Founded in November 1989, the NSW Sporting Hovercraft Club, known now as the AHF (Australian Hovercraft Federation) NSW Branch, is intended to:

  • Further the advancement of Hovercraft and associated technology throughout Australia
  • Educate the public, concerning the use of Hovercraft through schools, colleges and the media
  • To provide technical information and services for members who are having difficulty with certain aspects of their craft
  • Provide help for new operators
  • Establish a varied and interesting cruising program throughout New South Wales
  • Participate and co-operate with other Hovercraft clubs, associations and manufacturers to develop racing and cruising Hovercraft
  • Offer our servies to State Emergency Services, Wildlife Rescue and children charity events

CLUB 10 COMMANDMENTS

1. CRAFT ARE TO BE OPERATED WITH DUE CONSIDERATION FOR OTHERS AT ALL TIMES INCLUDING THE ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE

2. EVERY EFFORT IS TO BE MADE NOT TO GO PAST THE SAME AREA MORE THAN ONCE AN HOUR.

3. BOTTLE AND THROTTLE, NO ALCOHOL AT ANY TIME

4. ANY AND ALL WATERWAYS AND POLICE INSTRUCTIONS ARE TO BE CARRIED OUT AT ONCE.

5. ALL CRAFT ARE TO BE MAINTAINED IN A SAFE CONDITION AT ALL TIMES.

6. STRICT ATTENTION IS TO BE OBSERVED IN RELATION TO FUEL MANAGEMENT

7. NO OVER-LOADING.

8. FULL SAFTY EQUIPMENT IS TO BE CARRIED, PREFLIGHT CHECK.

9. BEFORE OPERATING ENSURE THAT YOUR INTENDED FLIGHT WILL NOT INFRINGE LOCAL BY-LAWS.

10. ALWAYS ENSURE THAT THE CRAFT IS REGISTERED, YOU ARE DUELY LICENSED AND INSURED.

Membership is open to any person who owns, or is building, a Hovercraft, whose business involves Hovercraft, or just has an interest in the technology.
